"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"
Romans 10:17
Bible Basics

Salvation
Salvation is one of the most important themes in the Bible. The Bible highlights our inherent mortality - we are all subject to sin and death. Jesus Christ came to die for us and save us from sin. He came to open the way for us to have eternal life - immortality. The first step for us is to acknowledge our mortality and to follow the Gospel commands of Jesus Christ - He is the only way to our salvation (Acts 4:12).

Salvation in Bible Prophecy
Salvation is a central theme woven into the fabric of biblical prophecy. From the earliest pages of the Old Testament, God reveals a redemptive plan to rescue humanity from sin and restore a relationship with Himself. Bible prophecy progressively unveils this plan, pointing forward to a coming Deliverer and Redeemer whose work would bring forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life. The New Testament presents Jesus Christ as the fulfilment of these prophetic promises.

The Gospel - God's Story
This basic talk provides an essential outline of the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ as the Greatest Story Ever told. From the promise of God through His prophets to John the Baptist, on to the Messiah Himself, culminating in His death, resurrection, ascension to heaven and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. The New Testament Church was born on the Day of Pentecost and the spreading of the Gospel commenced from Jerusalem and to the uttermost parts of the word. And so, the Gospel continues through to the return of Jesus Christ.

The Importance of Real Faith
The Bible teaches that Faith is of absolute importance - without genuine faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). There are many definitions of faith spoken of throughout the world, based on various concepts and ideas. However, the Bible specifies only one, true faith approved of God and effective in man's relationship with God. This talk identifies how the Bible defines the one God-approved faith as opposed to man's understanding of faith.

The Need For Repentance
Repentance is fundamental to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's promise of salvation. Jesus declared that except we repent, we shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:3, 5). Contrary to popular opinion, repentance is not just a once-off requirement in initial salvation, but rather a life-long commitment. This brief talk provides the necessary scriptural teaching that underwrites this crucial element of the Gospel.

Believing Always Requires Action
Believing is not a passive thing - it requires action on our part. In this talk we explore the Bible teaching on real belief as a continual and active dimension. Believing is not a "on-off" event - it is a continuous activity that requires our active participation on a day-by-day basis (Matthew 7:21, and Matthew 24:13).

Ultimate Salvation
The common saying "once saved, always saved" is a complete deception. Initial salvation does not guarantee that we will be saved at the coming of Christ. The ultimate salvation takes place when Jesus declares "... Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord" (Matthew 25:21).

In His Image
God reveals Himself in the Bible as our Creator. Moreover, the purpose of God creating us is that we might reflect His image. The entire plan of God for us - His purpose - is to form the image of His Son in us. We are born as a mere shadow of what God wants us to become. However, when the Light of God shines on us through His Spirit, we become transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Signs, Miracles & Wonders
Many claim today that the age of signs and miracles has passed. Nothing could be further from the truth. God never changes - His Word is immutable and His promises constant. Jesus proclaimed that specific miraculous signs would follow the true believers, and that He would continue to confirm His Word with "Signs following" Mark 16:15-20.

Fundamentals of Healing
Healing - restoration to fulness of health and wellbeing - is fundamental and essential to the Gospel message. The ministry of Jesus Christ on earth was very much centred on healing - both from a physical and mental perspective, and especially from a spiritual perspective. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the same today. His word has never changed. The promise of healing remains today if we are prepared to believe.
The Christian Life

Five Priorities for The Christian
This brief talk is for new Christians and as a reminder to those who may have been Spirit-filled for many years. It sets out the basic priorities of the Christian - what God expects the Christian to appropriate and develop as part of the Christian walk, being led by the Spirit of God. These priorities are essential to fulfil God's purpose in the followers of Christ.

Training The Christian Soldier
The Bible describes the Christian as a "good soldier of Jesus Christ" (2 Timothy 2:3). To develop the character and attributes of a good soldier, the incumbent must undergo and be subject to regular training to grow and maintain effectiveness. The soldier must be in a state of readiness to engage in warfare. This talk describes the necessary training of the Christian to function as a capable and effective, battle-ready soldeir of Christ.

All Things Work Together for Good
All Christians are faced with challenges through trials and tribulations of this life (John 16:33, 2 Timothy 3:12). This talk looks back on the life of the Old Testament patriarch Jospeh and his victory over seemingly insurmountable negative situations,as an encouragement for the New Testament Christian. God is able to do the uttermost in those who persist in Christ, turning trials into triumphs.

All One in Christ Jesus
The Bible teaches absolute equality in Jesus Christ. He came to save people of all nations, regardless of social standing, background, education, race etc. God has one salvation and He has established ONE BODY of CHRIST and ONE Calling. This talk emphasises the true oneness of the Church, which is the Body of Christ on earth.
